Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

FINALLY!!! Proof that Broadway is just as big a parasite as Hollywood!

Honestly, I'm so sick of theatre snobs talking down to movie snobs. "All Hollywood ever does is recycle the old junk from another studio's garbage can!" Shut hell up! Is there honestly a need to take a perfectly hilarious movie and add music to it? What's wrong with you?!

The film stars Steve Martin as the small time scam artist Freddy Benson who has taken a heiatous in France to set his sight on new targets. While there, he gains the tutelage of a very successful con named Lawrence Jamieson (portrayed brilliantly by Michael Caine). They team up to perform bigger and better scams, but turn into rivals when Freddy realizes that he can only play second fiddle to Lawrence...trust me, hilarity ensues

Look at those two geniuses of stage and screen! How could anyone play those roles better than they? The answer, of course, is that no one can. I got a chance to see The Broadway adaptation of this film recently, and I have to say that the only thing that can rival this travesty of musical theatre is the Broadway adaptation of The Prdoucers...or maybe the Halocaust. If you ever get a chance to see the tourin company, kill yourself before you have a chance to consider it.

The movie on the other hand, is quite enjoyable. It has everything! Secrets, plot twists, Steve Martin pretending to be retarded...I highly recommend you stop reading this and see it
