A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)

The reason I decided to watch this horror film is simply because I enjoyed the on that came out in 2010 and I figured I'd probably like this one too. I was right. Although this movie lacked the sound effects and the latest special effects of today, it did a good job of keeping my attention. I'm a lot older now so most of the outdated horror films don't really scare me like they used to. Overall I'm happy that I decided to watch the ORIGINAL Freddy Krueger because it "lived" up through the time as a classic horror film.

Nancy, Kris, Quentin, Jesse and Dean all live on Elm Street. At night, they're all having the same dream, of the same man, wearing a red and green striped sweater, an old fedora, and a disfigured face and a glove with knives for fingers. And they're all hearing the same scary voice. One by one, he terrorizes them within the walls of their dreams, where the rules are his, and the only way out is to wake up. But when one of the kids die a violent death, they soon realize that what happens in their dreams happens for real, and the only way to stay alive is to stay awake. Relying on each other, the four surviving friends try to uncover how they became part of this dark fairytale, hunted by this insane man. Functioning on little to no sleep, they try to figure out why this is happening to them and what their parents aren't telling them. Buried in their past is a debt that has just come due, and to save themselves, they will have to plunge themselves into the mind of the most twisted nightmare of all, Freddy Krueger.

Avoid giving the plot summary. You want to reaction/engage with the flick.
