Sequel Numero Uno. Okay so this one starts in China then moves to India. Something a little different this time is that Indy winds up trying to retrieve an artifact for the local culture (Nice ethical improvements Indy). He is accompanied by a little Chinese boy and a super annoying bond girl equivalent. Without giving much away, this is a trend for Indy; he gets the girl. There weren’t consistency problems, but I did have a problem with the time setting. It was set the year before the first film. This time doesn’t make sense when the audience knows the Indy after this experience. Also, there are no Nazis. I know this sounds like a weird thing to say, but it is the only one of the trilogy that doesn’t. Anyways. I don’t have much more to say about this one. It isn’t as memorable or interesting as the first. The film is still well done in its technical aspects. It is Spielberg and Lucas after all. As a part of the trilogy though, it is a skippable part of the series.
