Raiders of the Lost Ark

In 1981, director Steven Spielberg brings us the opening chapter to one of the greatest action/adventure movie series ever made. Raiders of The Lost Arc, or more commonly known as Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen and Paul Freeman, Raiders of the Lost Arc takes us on a journey back in time on a wild search for the lost Ark of the Covenant. Jones (Harrison Ford) is sent by the United States Government to find the Ark before the Nazis do and use it to make their army invincible.
The film has everything that an action movie could possibly offer, danger, fighting and mystery. The famous opening of this movie takes us to a jungle in South America where we are first introduced to Indiana Jones. By the end of this first scene when Jones is being chased out of the cave by a big boulder while getting poison darts shot at him we know we are in for a thrill ride. The movie takes us from South America to San Francisco than all the way to Cairo on the search for the Ark.
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc shows little evidence that it was filmed in the 80’s except for a few special effect scenes. One of the only parts where you think that the film was made in the 80’s was the part where the ghosts are coming out of the Ark of the Covenant, but what do you expect? Its1981. All together this film is probably my favorite of the series, but who knows, the newest addition to the films comes out this year. I would recommend this film to anyone who likes mystery or action, because this film has both. I believe that this film, and the entire Indiana Jones series will stand up forever because of the validity in action in all of the movies in the series.
